Definitely, Maybe

This week one of my former work colleagues forwarded this article about the "Generation Maybe". I thought it was really good and very true in many parts. The 20 somethings and 30 somethings know a lot, they are well prepared, well educated but massively overwhelmed by opportunity and chances of what they can do.
Read the article here (it is in German for all you English speakers so you might have to copy-paste it into google translator).

On Dancing.

Most of you know of my love for dancing. Not only is it a great workout but a way of expressing myself. A way to let go and just be free in the movement. It is about knowing your body, knowing how it moves.
Most of you also know that I don't go out dancing in clubs and such things so my only dancing happens in the dance studio, at home or at weddings. Whenever I watch a dance movie it really excites me.
Sometimes I get so excited about the dancing that I shout out in joy!

This last weekend I watched Step Up Revolution and I know some of you might say "really, another one of those", but truthfully I really like the movie because it focuses on dancing as a form of art being used to make a statement.
And honestly: The dancing is amazing!!! I mean amazing!

So I thought why not share some of it with you here because that is where my thoughts are today anyways (there and at a lot of other places too).

Thursday Tunes

One Tree Hill has been my favorite show for a very long time. It has some of the most beautiful music in the show and I own a lot of the show's music.
Recently I have been listening a lot to Laura Izibor and although it is not my typical go-to music I still love this song. To me it is the kind of song which brings me right into another world and I start dreaming. It is a Soundtrack kind of song and I imagine pictures and movies in my head (or I dance in my house to it).
Anyways... here's the song. Enjoy it and may it be a Soundtrack to you today.

Thursday Tunes

Today I want to share my favorite worship song at the moment. It is by Hillsong and called "Beneath the Waters". I will share the music and the lyrics with you. There is such a depth in the words that every time we sing it at church I need to really sing every word so clearly and with my heart because every single word, every single line says so much. There is truth. There is love. There is grace. We will rise with Him!!!

Here you go:

This is my revelation
Christ Jesus crucified
Salvation through repentance
At the cross on which He died

Now hear my absolution
Forgiveness for my sin
And I sink beneath the waters
That Christ was buried in

[Chorus]
I will rise, I will rise
As Christ was raised to life
Now in Him, now in Him
I live

I stand a new creation
Baptized in blood and fire
No fear of condemnation
By faith I'm justified

[Chorus]
I will rise, I will rise
As Christ was raised to life
Now in Him, now in Him
I live

I rise as You are risen
Declare Your rule and reign
My life confess Your Lordship
And glorify Your Name
Your Word it stands eternal
Your Kingdom knows no end
Your praise goes on forever
An on and on again

No power can stand against You
No curse assault Your throne
No one can steal Your glory
For it is Yours alone
I stand to sing Your praises
I stand to testify
For I was dead in my sin

[Chorus]
But now I rise, I will rise
As Christ was raised to life
Now in Him, now in Him
I live

The Oscars and The Paperman

If you are following me on instagram you saw that my friend and I were having a little Oscar party this past Monday. Now, I know that we were one week late, but hey, better late then never.
Can I just say that my list of movies to watch grew exponentially and most of the movies I want to watch haven't even been out in Germany yet so I guess I have to wait and take one at a time.

What I love about the Oscars is that they acknowledge film and art and honor them.

Something that struck out this year was The Paperman which received an Oscar for best animated short film. I went home and watched it and fell in love with this little movie so I thought I have to share it with you on this regular Wednesday.

May it be a moment of rest and diving into another world. A moment that gets you dreaming. Six minutes of just being somewhere else:

Heartbeats

I don't know why but I tend to be in romantic moods on Friday. Maybe it's the getting up really really early (5am), the music I listen to, the quiet hours before dawn.
Whatever it is it catches me often...

...and I really love reading Tyler Knott's beautiful words.
